Trenton Akers
(He/They/Theirs)
MSW (clinical specialization), RSW ( #12368)
I’ve been in private practice since 2020, working with preteens, teens, adults, and older adults in online, in-person, and group settings. I support clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, disability-related experiences, and LGBTQ2+ identities.
My approach is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to each person. While I draw from a range of approaches—including Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT (including CBT–I for sleep), Ego State Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and mindfulness-based practices—our work will be guided by what feels most helpful and meaningful to you.
Alongside talk therapy, I often incorporate mindfulness and meditation. I also take a psychedelically informed perspective, and can support clients in exploring or integrating these experiences in a safe, grounded, and non-judgmental way when appropriate.
In addition to my clinical training, I bring lived experience as a person with a disability (Cerebral Palsy), which shapes my understanding of resilience, identity, and navigating complex systems.
I see mental health as more than the absence of illness—it’s about building a life that feels sustainable, meaningful, and aligned with who you are. If you’re looking for a supportive, down-to-earth space to explore what’s going on and where you’d like to go, I’d be glad to work with you.
